about Igor Babich is the sheer beauty and
gorgeous emotion that he plays with. You are transported to a world where
the tone is soothing, the interpretations are unique, and *the phrasing is rich
and lush. His rhythms are crisp and clear and portray the beauty of the
piece as they *were
intended with his own unique interpretations. Igor does play beautiful bossa. And ballads, and blues, *etc. It is not unfair
to compare the beauty of his playing to a Johnny Hodges, Paul Desmond, or
an Art *Pepper.
Paul and Art I have heard in person so I believe it is fair to compare him
to them. I heard him for *the first time last week, merely by accident
as he was rehearsing in a nightclub. I stood outside the door as *I was awestruck by
the sheer beauty of his sound. It lingers in your mind for a long time
after. Don't take *my
word for it. Come out and hear him for yourself. The beauty of his playing
will linger for a long time in *your head also. He is truly a very
humble and dedicated musician to his craft. His infectious music is bound *to make you
happy.”
