“ It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Igor Babich. I have known Igor for 3 years. The progress that my son made during his 3 years with Igor as a teacher far exceeded any expectations I had and demonstrated to me what a wonderful teacher he is. Not only did my son grow as a saxophone player he gained more confidence in himself. Playing and practicing the saxophone was not a chore but rather an activity he performed happily and voluntary.

Igor was able to impart his enthusiasm and love of playing the saxophone onto my son. Rather than work directly from a saxophone lessons book, he would play different pieces of music and allow him to choose what he wanted to learn. He customized the music and lessons to his current skill level while at the same time providing challenges to keep the learning process going. By allowing him to choose the piece that he wanted to learn, he became part of the teaching process. My son had more incentive and motivation to practice and play. He would eagerly practice at home! Once a one piece was mastered, he was very enthusiastic about beginning his next new piece.

Igor is not only friendly and patient, but also is good at gauging his student’s level of knowledge and ability. His commitment to his students is evident. Igor sees each student as an individual and draws upon their strengths to teach them in ways that work best for them. He played by himself and provided my son with a recorded track of the piece that they were working on. This allowed my son to hear how the music should be played and reinforced the lesson material. Igor customized my son’s lessons to his ability and particular learning characteristics.

I respect Igor for many of his qualities but most of all because he is able to connect with his students and customize their lessons according to their strengths. Igor is a very positive and encouraging teacher who is able to make confident self-motivated saxophone players out his students. I highly recommend Igor Babich as a teacher and an envious of his future students who can experience his contagious passion and love of music first hand.

Sincerely,

Zara and Michael Nazarian, November 1, 2007.”

“ Igor Babich has been teaching my son to play saxophone for 3 years. Using his adaptive and individual teaching method Igor dramatically improved my sun’s skills and techniques, build his confidence to perform as a part of a band and soloist.

Brilliant teacher, talented musician and a thoughtful person Igor opens for his students the splendid world of jazz in the most electrifying and funniest ways, gives them various points of view by introducing them to renowned sax players and jazz bands. I believe that Igor’s students will keep the love and taste for a good music for the rest of there lives.

Without any hesitation I would recommend Mr. Babich to anybody who is interested in studying playing music with one of the finest saxophone teachers in GTA.

“It has been only one year since my son Henry started his saxophone lessons with Igor and I am thrilled with the progress that Henry has made. Igor is such a great teacher with outstanding techniques and effective teaching style. His unique way of conducting the lesson makes it interesting and enjoyable. Henry really enjoys every minute of the lesson and the every day practice. With no reservation I would recommend Igor as a great saxophone teacher to any of my friends.

Thank you for the great job, Igor !

“ It gives me great pleasure to recommend Mr. Igor Babich, whom I have known for more than two years. Mr. Babich has been my music teacher (alto saxophone) and I found him to be an excellent and most devoted teacher, as well as a very pleasant person.

“I met Mr. Igor Babich one and a half years ago when I decided to play the saxophone and fulfill a dream. When I started learning to play I was fifty years old and I suppose it wasn`t the optimal age for it.

Mr. Babich patiently and systematically teaching me and  in a short of time (one year) he put together three of his students (including myself) and with his conducting we made a successful Quartet show before 200 friends.

Mr. Babich is humane person, talented musician who is very much devoted to his pupils and I am glad to be one of them.”

Itzhak S. Abuaf, advocate.

“I met Mr. Igor Babich 3 years ago while looking for a saxophone teacher for my little son who was 8 years old that time and had a severe chronic disease of children which forced him to stay long periods of time at home without being able to walk by his own. It is not easy to teach the secrets of a musical instrument such as saxophone, especially with a little boy, who doesn`t always have the required physical abilities.

Patiently and with great consistent, Igor has been teaching my son how to play the sax and opened for him the marvelous world of jazz in this most exciting and funniest way, giving him various points of view by introducing him to famous sax players and jazz bands.

Thanks to his adaptive and personal teaching methods and unique personality, my eldest son, who is a student for Biomedical Engineering in the Tel Aviv University, started taking sax lessons too. His way of teaching my eldest son is a good example for Mr. Babich`s unique methods, managing to use my son`s previous musical knowledge of classical music playing the piano, in in order to promote his saxophone playing without re-teaching familiar material.

We are glad to be a part of this students family of this excellent teacher, talented musician and an understanding person.

I wish more people will have this kind of opportunity.”

“My name is Shuki Preminger. My professional career has evolved through the years around the high tech sector. Most recently, I founded Babylon Ltd. (www.babylon.com) which has been one of the biggest success stories amongst internet companies with over 25,000 new registered users joining the service every day.

In May 2001, I felt the urge to try it out on a tenor sax. I have studies piano for several years, mostly jazz music. I met Igor Babich at that time and he became my sax teacher. We meet twice every week. Igor has made learning music for me, a real joy. Even the most difficult and sometimes frustrating tasks, have been made “easy” or “light” or “fun” with Igor`s attitude and teaching methods. He is a teacher and a mentor for me and we constantly interact together. In this way my understanding of music and more specifically jazz, theory, practice and feel are quickly moving forward. Igor created for me as well as two more of his students a sax quartet where I participate. We meet and practice on a regular basis under Igor`s guidance and we even perform at friends parties.

I wish many beginning students could benefit from an experience with Igor Babich."
